Sometimes they’re for friends’ home movies, sometimes they’re for legitimate films and sometimes they’re for embarrassing the hell out of my buddies. Either way, designing movie posters is hilarious. It’s a vital piece of marketing for any film, and it’s also an amazingly awesome birthday present.

In the case of my friend Tommy Forrester’s independent horror film, “Dutch Tilt / Gratuitous,” it became a very serious process. Working with makeup experts and a great photographer, I took a simple shot of a guy with prosthetic eyes, and with Photoshop, turned it into a pretty striking image that was used as the main poster and DVD cover.
